18th June - Not to be squared

Our challenge for you today is...

Not to be squared; create a layout without using squares or rectangles.

Hannah
This challenge I used lots of circles to create it. I cut a few circles that are different sizes than use Prima blue water crayon around those circles. I used the photo of my daughter in that she challenged climbing so I use this title~explore. I rounded the corners of this photo to make it not to be squared then used wood leaves, wood stars, lace ribbons and used this thick title. Hope this can inspire you and I look forward to see your creations.

Being as it's Father's Day here in the states (Happy Father's Day, dads!), I chose to scrap a photo of my hubby with our beautiful kiddos from last Father's Day and played with stamped, die-cut, stitched, and sequin circles, not to mention lots of Pinkfresh goodies from my May Citrus Twist kit.

Rachel

What a wonderful challenge to inspire creativity! I have gone pretty and floral adding hearts, butterflies and a pretty scallop frame. We do hope you will join us and I look forward to seeing your creations. Head to my blog for all details on product and cut file used.

I'm going to amend this challenge just a little and say that it's ok to leave your photos square-like. For my background, I simply reached for a triangle punch, around them around the page, and voila!

This layout was recorded my good friends and I had breakfast in a great restaurant.
I cut the big title, use some colorful papers and elements to show the beautiful morning.

Wow what a great job everyone did! We would love to see how you take on this challenge! You have until 2nd July to enter your layout in the side bar.

And if you are celebrating it in your part of the world Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!

4th June- Sketch

Time for another sketch today.
I took inspiration from Vivian's Numbers challenge layout, it was a fun, playful layout which makes the same in a sketch!
Here is what the design team did with the sketch....

Hannah
I made some paper crack and used blue acrylic on it and then cut it into squares. I made another paper using tissue paper and yellow and green spray then cut them to a square and triangle. I use bead chain around these shapes make them glitter. I used this playful photo of my son because he is so cute and changes his face just like these shapes can change and look attractive.

Rachel
It took me a while to visualise this sketch and Vivian's layout was just beautiful. I chose a new collection by Kaisercraft Wildflower to use and went from there. I love how this turned out even if it was a little out of my comfort zone.

Vivian
Since this sketch is based off a previous layout of mine, I decided to show the sketch in a different way, using negative die cuts.  I made a pattern on SCAL4, arranged and cut all the shapes from the yellow polka-dotted paper, then separately cut the shapes using two other patterned papers. About 40 minutes of hand-stitching later, I came up with this!!!

This layout is about a date with my girlfriends, so I picked some pink elements, flowers, and butterflies to match with the photos.
Also, I took the photo of the nice dessert, which looks so delicious.

You have until 2nd July to enter this month's challenges.
Happy scrapping!
